As vanilla plants are climbing plants a proper place with humid atmosphere and bright, indirect sunlight should be in place. The proper temperature for growing is 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
It takes 2 to 3 years for a vanilla vein to bloom. Depending on the size of the plant it can be transplanted into a permanent pot later. Planting the support stake into the pot near the base of the vine but not too close to the roots will be a right thing to do.
Vanilla bean plants require water but one has to make sure not to overwater the plant. The humidity level can be controlled by spraying the water every day to ensure the moisture level. Besides that, vanilla plant need to be fertilized once every two weeks. If there is too much direct sunlight covering the plant it will be helpful to add some protective plants surrounding the veins. That should provide an adequate sunlight and support the distribution of air and nutrition, help to control the humidity level around vanilla veins.
